TRAVELS: Montreux

The past 3 weeks have gone by in the blink of an eye, but at the same time it feels like ages ago that I had my last day at my old job. I’ve been on the go non-stop, got on 6 flights and packed/unpacked my suitcase 4 times. Coming home always feels good, but traveling is my passion and I am so thankful for all the places I got to see and explore these past 3 weeks. Amongst them, the quaint little Montreux in French Switzerland. Last week I spent 2 days at Montreux Jass Festival with Parmigiani Fleurier and it was simply amazing! We had so much fun with the girls (Anna, Sylvia & Julia), lunched by the pool, saw Van Morrison live (!!) and got to explore the history of the brand Parmigiani Fleurier, which was SO impressive.

On our second day, we visited the the manufactory where all the dials are made by hand. It was so impressive to see how much hard work goes into a single watch. Later on we drove to the headquarter, where we got to meet the inspiring  Michel Parmigiani – founder of the brand. He began his career in 1976 by restoring elaborate pieces of art. Everything he knows, he taught himself, as back then restoring was not yet an official job. It was such a pleasure to chat with someone so passionate about what he does. Sometimes he spends up to 2.000 hours restoring one single piece, but still his eyes were glowing when he told us all about it. I think finding a profession you love that much is one of the greatest gifts in life! And I love the fact that the brand Parmigiani Fleurier originated from that passion!

My favorite watch – obviously rosè gold with a pearly dial and a bit of bling

*A huge thanks to Parmigiani Fleurier for the unforgettable experience and wonderful 2 days!

    Liebe Vicky,
