OUTFIT: flared.

I might have just as well called this post: The return of the 70s. With those flared jeans, round sunnies and faux fur jacket I think I would have definitely blended right in back then. When it comes to the flared jeans, I am never sure if I really like them or should just stick to skinny jeans. They instantly bring back memories of middle school back in 2002. Flared bell bottom jeans were the only option and I still remember how I would usually wish for certain brands (7 For All Mankind or Hudson jeans) for Christmas and birthdays. Over the past few years, it has mostly been skinny jeans only, however, I have always found myself going back to the bell bottoms here and there. Mike is not a fan – I asked him last night at date night how he liked my outfit and he came to the conclusion that “weird” would be a good description. Still, I feel like an occasional venture back to the 70s with flared jeans is ok. What do you guys think?

How to wear flared jeans? Personally, I like to keep things simple around the flares. A cozy knit or silky camisole slightly tucked into the front of the jeans is perfect. Also, currently I am all about the high-rise waist when it comes to wearing flared jeans. Plus, heels are a must. The days of dragging the denim on the floor until the back was one big hole are definitely over. Lastly, make sure the jeans are long enough. Mine are literally just on the verge of being too short. Ideally, the flares should hide the shoes entirely while just barely touching the ground when you’re standing up. This will also ensure your legs look super long!

    Liebe Grüße!

I definitely can relate about the flares reminding me of my youger years and that hole in the back situation! And do you remember how wet they used to get when it rained? Oh, those Autumns where difficult, hehe!
I personally don’t wear them anymore, even if they are so trendy right now. I find skinny jeans so, so comfortable that I don’t want to leave them in the closet. I’m all about comfort!

I don’t know why but I seem to agree with Mike over here, maybe because I’ve always just worn skinny jeans and I lack a sense of fashion. I know that back in the day my mother used to rock the flared jeans but I feel that they just aren’t for me. You, however, Vickey look great in them.

    LOVE that look! <3
Finally we are back to flares, I never got tired of them. Super-sexy, classic but still always some rock'n'roll in it. Besides, I personally don't have the legs for skinny jeans 😉 therefore I was really waiting for a comeback of flares which was much overdue! 🙂
